Bullet trains traveling between Mianyang and Chengdu have become as common as buses are, with a minimum interval of 5 minutes.
Yesterday was the first day to reschedule trains. The reporter saw in the Mianyang Railway Station that there were many passengers buying train tickets in the ticketing hall and waiting in the waiting hall and at the ticket gates. For citizens, what’s most exciting is that the 6 bullet trains traveling from Mianyang to Chengdu have been increased after the rescheduling. It is particularly noteworthy that a pair of inter-city bullet trains traveling between Mianyang and Chendu have been increased during the peak hours of morning, noon, and evening. That is to say, there will be 3 trains starting from Mianyang Station, making it more convenient for citizens who commute between the two places, get up early to solve their businesses or go home on Friday.
“In the past, the first train traveling from Mianyang to Chengdu pulled out at 8:04 in the morning and pulled in at Chengdu East Station at 9:24. After rescheduling, the first train pulls out at 7:03 and pulls in at Chengdu East Station at 7:53. There is also a last train which pulls out at 22:55.” said the superintendent of Mianyang Railway Station. After rescheduling, 41 bullet trains traveling from Mianyang to Chengdu have been open to traffic, with the minimum interval of 5 minutes. For example, the D1931 bullet train traveling from Xi’an North to Chengdu East pulls out at Mianyang Station at 15:52, and the G2207 bullet train traveling from Xuzhou East to Chengdu East pulls out at Mianyang Station at 15:57.
Citizens who often travel between Mianyang and Chengdu are excited that more bullet trains have been open to traffic. “Now there are more trains traveling between Mianyang and Chengdu. It will become more convenient to travel between these two cities on weekends and holidays. The newly added bullet trains pulling out during the peak hours of morning and evening are particularly convenient. I used to be rushing each time I came back. Now I can have some time with my family and friends after dinner. I don’t have to rush because I can take the last train to go back,” said Long Fei, “Even if I want to go back to Chengdu in the morning, I can take the bullet train which pulls out at 7 o’clock and then take the subway to get to work without being late.”
The bullet trains traveling between Mianyang and Chengdu have become as common as buses are. This is the premature manifestation of accelerating the integration of Mianyang and Chengdu. Last year, Mianyang signed a cooperation agreement with Chengdu and Deyang to accelerate the integrated development of these three cities. And building an interconnected transport network of Mianyang and Chengdu was later officially put on the agenda. Subsequently after multiple rounds of matchmaking negotiations, Chengdu, Mianyang, Deyang and China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group reached a consensus. They decided to increase more inter-city bullet trains traveling between Mianyang and Chengdu starting from January 5 and increase more long-distance high-speed trains when needed, so as to make the bullet trains traveling between Mianyang and Chengdu as common as buses are.

Apart from the three pairs of trains traveling from Mianyang to Chengdu East, 1 pair of bullet trains traveling from Mianyang to Nanning East and 1 pair of bullet trains traveling from Mianyang to Yantai were also increased.
