Treatments

MEDICAL CARE
We provide services for those wanting a periodic check-up, treatment for colds, flu testing, pregnancy testing, and other health-related issue that falls under our Primary Care.

PHYSICAL THERAPY
We will refer you to the proper therapy based on your diagnosis.

CHIROPRACTIC MANIPULATION is achieved by pressure from the hands moving the area of complaint on the spine.  The specially design chiropractic table drops quickly, making the adjustment of the spine quick, gentle, and precise and allows the patient to experience relief.

FACET-POINT Injections
A facet injection is a minimally invasive procedure that can temporarily relieve neck or back pain caused by inflamed facet joints. The cause of facet joint pain (arthritis, injury, degeneration) is not well understood and can be similar in nature to disc pain. The procedure has two purposes. First, it can be used as a diagnostic test to see if the pain is actually coming from your facet joints. Second, it can be used as a treatment to relieve inflammation and pain caused by various spine conditions. The effects of facet injections tend to be temporary – providing relief for several days or even years. The goal is to reduce pain so that you may resume normal activities and a physical therapy program. Learn more.

TRIGGER-POINT Injections
Trigger points are discrete, focal, hyperirritable spots located in a taut band of skeletal muscle. They produce pain locally and in a referred pattern and often accompany chronic musculoskeletal disorders. Acute trauma or repetitive microtrauma may lead to the development of stress on muscle fibers and the formation of trigger points. Patients may have regional, persistent pain resulting in a decreased range of motion in the affected muscles. These include muscles used to maintain body posture, such as those in the neck, shoulders, and pelvic girdle. Trigger points may also manifest as tension headache, tinnitus, temporomandibular joint pain, decreased range of motion in the legs, and low back pain. Palpation of a hypersensitive bundle or nodule of muscle fiber of harder than normal consistency is the physical finding typically associated with a trigger point. Palpation of the trigger point will elicit pain directly over the affected area and/or cause radiation of pain toward a zone of reference and a local twitch response. Various modalities, such as the Spray and Stretch technique, ultrasonography, manipulative therapy and injection, are used to inactivate trigger points. Trigger-point injection has been shown to be one of the most effective treatment modalities to inactivate trigger points and provide prompt relief of symptoms. (Am Fam Physician 2002;65:653–60. PHYSIOLOGIC THERAPEUTICS

This Office Uses:

Electric Stimulation triggers impulses by varying the frequency, wavelength, intensity, and location of the electricity applied to the patient.  It can relax muscle spasms, relieve pain or soreness, remove fluid or swelling from the area of complaint, or strengthen a muscle that is not functioning properly.

Hot and/or Cold Packs help to relieve muscle spasms or in the case of cold packs, reduce swelling.

Ultrasound is a therapy that produces heat to promote healing to the affected area.

Low Level Laser is a therapy that produces wavelengths, without heat, in promoting healing to an affected area, especially good to use over any prosthesis or metal in the body.

Paraffin Bath is used in arthritic conditions and is great for hands.

Exercises

Our practice utilizes different ways to exercise in order to strengthen the body. This includes the use of bands, exercise equipment, or exercises for one or more areas that need to be rebuilt.  To us, it is important to look at each of our patients uniquely. As part of their consultation, we consider their lifestyles, review their work habits as well as home and sleep habits, in order for each patient to achieve a more productive and healthy life.
